EDITURA UNIVERSITATII DIN ORAEA

(THE UNIVERSITY OF ORADEA PUBLISHING HOUSE)

The Publishing House of the University of Oradea was founded in 1995, as part of the general development of higher education in this region of the country. The original aim was to serve the educational activity and research work by valuing the  intellectual and scientific potential of the local academic community.

The  publishing policy is guided by professionalism and follows the editorial projects of the faculties, annually grouped in a Catalogue of the Publishing House. In 2001, the publishing house was acknowldged and credited by the National Council (CNCSIS); that year it started participating at natioal and international book exhibitions and fairs, such as GAUDEAMUS- educational books, Bucharest, and its caravans in Cluj-Napoca, Craiova, Targu Mures; the International Book Fair OVIDIUS in Constanta, the International Book Fair in Bucharest, the international  book exhibitions in Chisinau and Budapest, Bookfest Bucharest. More than 2000 titles of scientific and technical books, law treatises, history and geography books, volumes of  communication sciences and international relationships, of  forestry and food industry, of fine arts, kinetotherapy, physical education and sports render the publishing house in Oradea an encyclopaedic feature. There are 27 Annual Proceedings published here, 13 of which were evaluated and acredited by the National Council CNCSIS and, consequently,  included in the categories B+ and B; they are added the North Western Journal of Zoology (A category - ISI), Revista Romana de Geografie Politica (B+ category), Eurolimes (B+ category), Biharean Biologist (B+ category) and Herpetologica Romanica (B+ category).

The prestige that the publishing house has reached for the last years is emphasised by the  large number of national libraries that purchase its books – Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Targu Mures, Pitesti, Chisinau- as well as by the constant interest for them coming from different people in the country and abroad.
